Library of Congress; Steven SebringBilly Joel and Patti Smith are among the featured guests scheduled to appear during the 2015 edition of The New Yorker Festival, a series of events sponsored by The New Yorker magazine that will be held October 2-4 at various locations in New York City.

Joel will take part in a conversation with Nick Paumgarten, a staff writer for The New Yorker who wrote a profile of the Piano Man that ran in an October 2014 issue of the magazine. The 90-minute Q&A event is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, at 5 p.m. ET at the Acura at SIR Stage37 venue.

As for Smith, she will be interviewed by The New Yorker editor David Remnick on Saturday, October 3, at 9:30 p.m. ET at the MasterCard Stage at SVA Theatre 1. Patti is expected to discuss her latest memoir, M Train, during the 90-minute event. The book is scheduled to be published on October 6.

The New Yorker Festival offers a variety of discussions and interview sessions with musicians, actors, writers, filmmakers and other artists. In addition to Joel and Smith, this year’s lineup includes Phish frontman Trey Anastasio, British producer/musician Mark Ronson, comics Jim Gaffigan and Marc Maron, and actors Sigourney Weaver, Jeffrey Tambor, Julianna Margulies, Jason Segel, Damian Lewis and Ellie Kemper.
