Trevor Heath/Brian Malloy The Yardbirds kick off a new fall U.S. tour tonight with a concert in Norfolk, Connecticut. The 15-date trek, which includes both East Coast and West Coast dates, is scheduled to wind down with a November 22 performance in Northampton, Massachusetts.

The veteran blues rockers, led by founding drummer Jim McCarty, will feature a revamped lineup for the tour. Singer/guitarist John Idan, who previously played with The Yardbirds from 1992 to 2009, has returned to the fold. Taking on lead-guitar duties is Johnny A, who has worked with J. Geils Band singer Peter Wolf and ex-Derek and the Dominoes member Bobby Whitlock. On bass is journeyman musician Kenny Aaronson, while ex-Ram Jam member Myke Scavone rounds out the lineup on harmonica and backing vocals.
