71st Street EntertainmentTurn It Up!, a documentary dedicated to the electric guitar and featuring a variety of famous musicians, will be released as a two-DVD set and a two-Blu-ray package on January 22. Among the many stars who appear in the film are The DoorsRobby Krieger, Heart‘s Nancy Wilson, KissPaul Stanley, YesSteve Howe, Toto‘s Steve Lukather, ex-Doobie Brother Jeff “Skunk” Baxter and Dave Mason, as well as the late Les Paul and B.B. King.

The movie, which is narrated by actor and musician Kevin Bacon, combines performance footage and in-depth interviews to tell a story about the deep bond both professional and amateur musicians develop for their guitars. Other artists featured in Turn It Up! include Slash, Alice in ChainsJerry Cantrell and veteran British session guitarist Albert Lee.

The DVD and Blu-ray releases also offer a variety of bonus features, including extended interviews, mini docuentaries, footage of Krieger riffing on one of his guitars, and performance by Baxter from the movie S.S. United States: Lady in Waiting.

The documentary also will be available as a digital download that won’t include the bonus content.
