Credit: Alan SilfenBefore being honored with a special tribute at the Grammy Awards on Monday, Lionel Richie will be recognized at the 2016 MusiCares Person of the Year gala tonight.

The star-studded tribute concert, which takes place at the Los Angeles Convention Center, will include performances by Stevie Wonder, Lenny Kravitz, Rihanna, Dave Grohl, John Legend, Usher, Pharrell Williams, Demi Lovato, Luke Bryan and many other stars. Lionel is being honored for his philanthropy and artistic contributions.

Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the 2016 MusiCares Person of the Year gala will begin with a cocktail reception and silent auction. Proceeds from the 26th annual event go toward MusiCares, which provides support for the music community in times of financial, medical and personal need. The organization is the charitable arm of the National Recording Academy of Arts & Sciences, which awards the Grammys.

At the 58th Annual Grammy Awards on Monday, Legend, Lovato, Bryan and Meghan Trainor will salute Richie by singing songs from throughout his career. Lionel also will take the stage for a group version of one of his classics.

The Grammy Awards air Monday night on CBS starting at 8 p.m. ET.
