Courtesy of Live NationFour of the most famous rock bands to emerge from the San Francisco music scene — Journey, Santana, Steve Miller Band and The Doobie Brothers — are teaming up for a special one-off concert that will take place in the City by the Bay on September 4. The 2016 San Francisco Fest “On the Green” show will be held at AT&T Park, and also will feature some as-yet-unannounced special guests.

Tickets for the event will go on sale to the general public on Friday, March 18, at 10 a.m. PT via Ticketmaster. American Express card members will be able to buy pre-sale tickets starting Monday, March 14, at noon PT.

“This concert is the ultimate homecoming show for us and we are blessed to perform with our Bay Area friends,” says Journey in a statement. “Our history with everyone runs deep and it’s going to be a show you won’t want to miss.”

The show, which will begin at 3 p.m. local time and run into the late evening, will pay homage to the series of multi-artist “Day on the Green” concerts that were held regularly in nearby Oakland, California, from 1973 until the 1990s. Journey, Santana, Steve Miller Band and The Doobie Brothers played a combined 12 “Day on the Green” shows during the event’s heyday.

As previously reported, Journey and Santana also will be playing three concerts together in mid-April in the northeastern U.S. Journey also will be hitting the road with The Doobies and Dave Mason on the expansive 2016 San Francisco Fest tour, which gets underway on May 12 and runs all the way through the end of August. In addition, Journey toured with Steve Miller Band last year.
