Claude Gassian; Olaf HeineThe Rolling Stones, U2 and the late David Bowie are among the finalists for the 2016 Billboard Music Awards, which ABC will air live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas May 22.

The Stones and U2 both are in the running for awards in the same two categories — Top Duo/Group and Top Touring Artist. The other artists competing for the former award are boy band One Direction, pop-rock group Maroon 5 and modern-rock act Twenty One Pilots. One Direction also are vying for the Top Touring Artist prize, along with Madonna and pop superstar Taylor Swift.

As for Bowie, he’s a finalist for the Top Rock Album for his new record, Blackstar, which was released January 8, his 69th birthday and just two days before he died. The other albums competing for the honor are Alabama ShakesSound & Color, Coldplay‘s A Head Full of Dreams, Mumford & SonsWilder Mind, and Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface.

This year’s leading Billboard Music Awards nominee is Canadian R&B singer The Weeknd, who was named a finalist an impressive 19 times in 16 categories. You can check out the full list of finalists for the 2016 awards at Billboard.com.
