Variety reports that Lionsgate TV is close to an agreement with Amazon to produce the show, which is titled Time Out of Mind and will be spearheaded by Australian writer/director Josh Wakely.

Wakely already has secured rights to songs from Dylan’s expansive catalog for the series, which is said to be in the early stages of development. Time Out of Mind, named after the singer/songwriter’s Grammy-winning 1997 album, will be produced through Wakely’s Sydney-based production company, Grace.

According to Variety, plans for the series include having two different characters or elements from Dylan songs interact in some way.

Wakely is the same man behind the creation of another new TV series based on the music of a famous artist, Beat Bugs, the animated children’s program that will incorporate new cover versions of Beatles songs into its storylines. That show, which premieres in August on Netflix, will feature renditions of Fab Four tunes recorded by Eddie Vedder, Sia, Pink and other stars. Wakely was able to secure rights to use compositions from John Lennon and Paul McCartney‘s Northern Songs catalog in the program.
