Credit: David BeanIn recent years, Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford has rekindled a collaborative relationship with former Ted Nugent singer Derek St. Holmes, with whom he recorded the 1981 album Whitford/St. Holmes. Now the duo is set to release a brand-new studio effort.

Reunion will be released on June 3, the same day Brad and Derek will hit the road on a U.S. tour opening for Whitesnake to support the album.

Whitford and St. Holmes began working together again after they both moved to the Nashville area. After writing some new material, they assembled a band that features bassist Chopper Anderson, keyboardist Buck Johnson and Tesla drummer Troy Luccketta. Brad and Derek co-produced Reunion, which was recorded at The Castle Studios in Franklin, Tennessee.

The album’s hard-rocking first single, “Shapes,” will be released May 9, though you can check out the track now at WhitfordStHolmes.com.

“It’s hard to believe we first jammed over 30 years ago,” says Whitford about his collaboration with St. Holmes.

Adds Derek, “We are excited for this record to get out there, we want to share it with our friends, all those hardcore rock ‘n’ roll fans…Like our fans and good Whiskey we all seem to get better with age. These new cuts are bold, brassy and ballsy we can’t wait to play them live.”

Whitford/St. Holmes‘ opening stint for Whitesnake runs from a June 3 show in Dallas though a June 29 concert in Silver Spring, Maryland. The duo also has a couple of headlining gigs lined up, and is planning to announce more dates soon.
