Photo by Michael Tweed/GoldenvoiceToto guitarist Steve Lukather and keyboardist Steve Porcaro are among the many musicians who will perform at an official tribute concert honoring late Emerson, Lake & Palmer member Keith Emerson that’s been scheduled for Saturday, May 28, at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. The event’s star-studded lineup also will feature many musicians who were close friends and/or collaborators of the virtuoso keyboardist.

The bill also includes ex-Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan guitarist Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, former Jeff Beck drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band drummer Gregg Bissonette, and journeyman prog-rock keyboardist/violinist Eddie Jobson. In addition, members of Emerson’s solo band and his Three Fates Project group will take part in the show.

The concert will take a career-spanning look at Emerson’s work, including music from ELP, The Nice, Three Fates Project and the Keith Emerson Band. Tickets for the concert, which can be purchased at, are priced at $39.50 for general admission, not including fees.

As previously reported, Emerson, Lake & Palmer drummer Carl Palmer also will be paying homage to Emerson on his upcoming U.S. tour with his solo band ELP Legacy. The trek will include a concert on June 24 in Miami that will feature appearances by ex-Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett and Vanilla Fudge singer/keyboardist Mark Stein.

Emerson died on March 10 of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was 71.
