The upcoming film will be directed by James Keach, the force behind the 2014 documentary I’ll Be Me, which chronicles the country-pop star’s struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Keach also produced Walk the Line, the Academy Award-winning 2005 motion picture based on the life of Johnny Cash.

The news comes as Nashville-based manager TK Kimbrell announced that he’ll be shepherding Campbell’s legacy from now on. “He seems really happy,” Kimbrell says of the “Rhinestone Cowboy” singer’s declining condition. “It’s hard for him to put words together. Physically, he looks healthy — like the Glen Campbell we all know. He smiles a lot, and loves seeing his wife Kim and the family. They are always there caring for him.”

Kimbrell also works with Campbell’s daughter Ashley, who has a recording contract with Big Machine. He teases that there are many unreleased recordings by the guitar great, both as a soloist and with famed Los Angeles studio musicians The Wrecking Crew.
