Andrew Lipovsky/NBCMadonna was the musical guest on a special edition of The Tonight Show Thursday night that featured President Barack Obama as Jimmy Fallon‘s only other guest.

Madonna never shared the stage with Obama, but did pose for a couple of pictures with the POTUS backstage, which she shared on Instagram the day before, when the appearance was recorded. One shows the two talking to each other with the caption, “For once I’m speechless.”

In another, Obama is seen with his arm around her. It’s captioned, “A meeting of the Leo’s! A Cosmic Convergence!!”

In sharp contrast to her last appearance on the show back in April, which featured a gold grill, leather jacket and chains, the Material Girl toned down her outfit for this appearance, wearing a black silk shirt, a striped tie, and checkered pants.

Also in stark contrast to her last appearance, where she sang “B**** I’m Madonna” from her Rebel Heart album, Madonna opted for a laid-back version of her 1983 hit, “Borderline.”
