Credit: Stephanie PistelDuran Duran has added a performance at New York City’s historic Apollo Theater to the upcoming summer North American leg of its Paper Gods Tour. The show will mark the first time the veteran British group has played at the legendary venue in the Harlem section of the Big Apple.

“We have always wanted to play the Apollo Theater,” says founding keyboardist Nick Rhodes. “It’s one of the world’s most iconic and enduring venues, steeped in history and so rich in terms of its musical legacy. The show on the 19th falls right in the middle of the next leg of the tour — by which point playing something this small and intimate will be a real treat for us all.”

Tickets for the concert go on sale this Friday, June 17, via Ticketmaster.com. Pre-sale tickets for the show are available to Duran Duran Fan Community members now. Visit DuranDuranMusic.com for more details.

The new Paper Gods Tour leg gets underway July 6 in Nashville and is mapped out all the way through a September 9-10 stand in Durant, Oklahoma. Chic Featuring Nile Rodgers will be Duran Duran’s special guest at most of the shows through September 1, while indie electronic-dance artist Tokimonsta also will open select gigs.

Fans purchasing tickets to Duran Duran’s concerts through August 6 will receive a free standard physical copy of the band’s latest album, 2015’s Paper Gods. Rodgers co-wrote and co-produced a few tracks that appear on the record.
