Broadway RecordsA variety of Broadway stars and other celebrities, including Carole King and Gloria Estefan, have lent their voices to a new charity recording of the Burt BacharachHal David tune “What the World Needs Now Is Love.” The cover of the classic song was released today in support of the victims of last weekend’s mass shooting at a nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

Other notables from the theater world contributing to the track include well-known singers and actors such as Whoopi Goldberg, Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, Rosie O’Donnell, Sarah Jessica Parker, Fran Drescher, Rosie Perez, Bernadette Peters, Idina Menzel, Sara Bareilles, Joel Grey, Sean Hayes, Chita Rivera, Kristen Bell, Wayne Brady, Tommy Tune and Hamilton‘s Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The track is available as a digital single at iTunes for $1.99. All proceeds from the sale of the song will benefit the GLBT Center of Central Florida.
