Concord RecordsHeart‘s new studio album, Beautiful Broken, hits stores today, July 8. The 10-track collection offers a mix of updated versions of older tunes by the band and a few new songs.

An exclusive preview of the full album currently is streaming at Billboard.com. You also can check out audio clips of every song on Beautiful Broken at Heart’s official YouTube channel.

Kicking off Beautiful Broken is the hard-rocking title track, which features a guest appearance by Metallica‘s James Hetfield. The original version of the tune appeared as a bonus track on Heart’s previous 2012 studio album, Fanatic, although the new version includes some new lyrics. Most of the songs on the album are reworked renditions of songs first featured on Heart’s early-’80s releases Bebe Le Strange, Private Audition and Passionworks.

Among the new songs on Beautiful Broken is “Two,” a ballad that was written by popular R&B singer Ne-Yo and is sung by Heart guitarist Nancy Wilson. Nancy co-produced the album with Heart bassist Dan Rothchild, who is the son of late Doors producer Paul Rothchild. In addition, four of the tracks feature string arrangements by Paul Buckmaster, known for his work with The Rolling Stones and Elton John during the early 1970s.

Beautiful Broken arrives just in time for the launch of Heart’s Rock Hall Three for All Tour with Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and Cheap Trick. The trek kicks off July 14 in Clarkston, Michigan, and runs through a September 23 show in West Palm Beach, Florida.
