ABC/Randy Holmes; Steve Zak Photography/FilmMagicBette Midler, Joan Jett and ex-Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar will appear as advisers this fall on the new season of The Voice, which also will feature Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys joining Adam Levine and Blake Shelton on the panel of judges.

Us Weekly reports that Midler will be working with Shelton’s team this season, Jett was chosen by Cyrus to advise her team and Levine picked rocking Hagar as his team’s adviser.

The magazine points out that Midler’s participation on The Voice had been brought up before, only by Levine rather than Shelton. During the show’s ninth season, Adam declared that if he could choose a fifth coach, it would be the legendary singer and actress.

Cyrus’ choosing Jett is no surprise, since Miley inducted Joan into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year, and considers her one of her biggest inspirations and influences.

More surprising, perhaps is Levine picking the hard-rocking Hagar. However, a source tells Us Weekly that Adam is “a big fan of classic rock.” Not only that, but Hagar and Levine have previously hung out together in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and Adam has performed with Sammy at the Red Rocker’s local bar.

According to Us Weekly, The Voice‘s other new adviser will be young singer/songwriter Charlie Puth, who will work alongside Keys.

A special preview episode of The Voice will air on NBC after the closing ceremonies of the Olympics on August 21. The real season 11 premiere happens Monday, September 19.
