RhinoOn September 9, The Complete Trio Collection, a three-CD set of recordings Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris made during the sessions for their Grammy-winning collaborative albums Trio and Trio II, will be released. In advance of the compilation, a lyrics video for one of the set’s bonus tracks, an alternate 1986 take of the Parton-penned “Wildflowers,” has premiered on the Rhino YouTube channel.

The studio version of “Wildflowers” appeared on Trio, and peaked at #6 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Singles chart.

As previously reported, The Complete Trio Collection features newly remastered editions of 1987’s Trio and 1999’s Trio II, as well as a disc of unreleased tracks and alternate versions of songs from the two albums.

Also being released on September 9 will be a single-CD anthology titled My Dear Companion: Selections from the Trio Collection, as well as a two-LP vinyl set called Farther Along that features all of the bonus material from The Complete Trio Collection. In addition, Trio II will issued on vinyl for the first time ever on the same day.
