Elvis Presley’s GracelandThe 2016 edition of Elvis Week, the annual Elvis Presley celebration at Graceland in Memphis that coincides with the anniversary of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s death, kicked off Wednesday, but the biggest highlights are yet to come.

Among Friday’s scheduled events is “Elvis 101,” which begins at 10 a.m. CT and features various authors, scholars and Presley experts discussing his life and music. At 7 p.m. that day, a concert dubbed The Sound and Soul of Memphis will be held, featuring local artists saluting the music that emerged from the city.

On Saturday, a major sale of Presley memorabilia called The Auction at Graceland will be held starting at 2 p.m. The event will feature nearly 200 Presley-related collectibles going up for bid, including Elvis’ 1935 birth record, clothing, jewelry, film memorabilia and more.

Sunday will feature the Official Graceland Insiders Conference, which begins at 9 a.m. and features screenings of rare videos and archival footage. The event also will include guest appearances by Presley’s longtime drummer DJ Fontana, his one-time girlfriend Marilyn Riehl and former backup singers Estelle Brown and Ray Walker. Then, at 8 p.m., a concert called the Elvis Gospel Celebration will take place, featuring various music artists who shared the stage with Presley performing inspirational tunes.

Monday’s schedule begins with a 9 a.m. event titled Conversations on Elvis: Co-Stars, which will feature various actors who appeared alongside Presley in various movies sharing stories about their experiences. At 2 p.m., Glenn D. Hardin, pianist in Presley’s TCB Band, will take part in an interview event. That evening at 8:30 p.m., the annual candlelight vigil held on the eve of the actual anniversary of Elvis’ 1977 death will begin and will run until the morning hours of August 16.
