Credit: Nels IsraelsonJackson Browne will play a pair of benefit shows during his recently announced U.S. fall acoustic tour, which gets underway on September 29 in Livermore, California, and wraps up October 13 in Boise, Idaho.

The first benefit gig takes place on October 4 at the Majestic Ventura Theater in Ventura, California, and will raise funds for Safety Harbor Kids. The nonprofit organization works to improve the lives of homeless children, orphans, foster kids by offering their educational opportunities, such as music and arts programs and tutoring. Tickets for the show will go on sale starting this Friday, August 26, at 10 a.m. local time via

The next night, October 5, Browne will perform at Pomona College’s Bridges Auditorium in Claremont, California, and that concert will benefit that city’s Folk Music Center Museum. The museum is dedicated to promoting and preserving traditional and contemporary folk music and culture, while also preserving folk instruments. Tickets for that show also go on sale Friday, at 10 a.m. PT, and will be available at the venue’s box office, online at and the Folk Music Center.

Browne currently is winding down a series of full-band shows in the U.S. that’s scheduled through an August 29-30 engagement in San Diego. The folk-rock great also will team up with Spanish flamenco guitarist Raul Rodriguez for a brief tour of Spain in mid-September.

On top of all that, Browne will take part in the Benefit Concert Against Gun Violence with Rosanne Cash, Marc Cohn and others on September 25 in New York City.
