Courtesy of MSO PREagles bassist Timothy B. Schmit is inviting fans to sing along to his new single with the premiere of a new lyric video featured on his Facebook page.

The song, “Red Dirt Road,” will be included on his forthcoming solo record, Leap of Faith, due Sept. 23 on Benowen Records.

Recorded in Schmit’s Los Angeles studio, the song — which features Van Dyke Parks on accordion, John McFee from The Doobie Brothers on fiddle, and harmonies by Herb Pedersen — centers on a theme of letting go, Schmidt wrote on his page.

“Upon hearing this song one might think the setting is from the deep South, but actually the image comes from the island of Kauai,” he said.
