OBA Productions LLC/UMeOlivia Newton-John has teamed up with hit country songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman and veteran Canadian singer/songwriter Amy Sky on a new album titled LIV ON that will be released digitally this Friday, October 7, and on CD a week later. The collaborative collection features 11 tracks that focus on bringing aid and comfort to those battling cancer or other serious illnesses and their loved ones.

The project was inspired by the experiences Newton-John, Chapman and Sky have had with cancer, either personally or with people close to them. The album is tied in with an awareness campaign launched by the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre, a facility in Victoria, Australia, that the famous singer helped fund. People are being encouraged to visit the center’s website, where they can share their own “LIV ON” stories or read about other people’s journeys.

“As a group, it’s our intention with this album to create songs with a message of compassion and hope,” says Newton-John of LIV ON. “They are for anyone facing a time of challenge in their life, whether it is grieving a loss — or on the journey to health and recovery.”

You can check out the official video for the album’s title track at People.com. Olivia survived a bout with breast cancer in the early 1990s, and she also lost her father and sister to cancer.

In other news, Newton-John will be making a number of TV appearances this week, including on NBC’s Today show this morning at 10 a.m. ET, and on this evening’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which airs at 11:35 p.m. ET/10:35 p.m. CT on NBC. On the latter program, she’ll sit in with Jimmy Fallon‘s house band, The Roots.
