Credit: Nels IsraelsonJackson Browne is winding down his U.S. fall acoustic tour this week, but the acclaimed singer/songwriter has just announced plans to take part in a pair of benefit concert events in California later this month. Browne will be playing in support of the Yes on 62 — Repeal the Death Penalty campaign October 24 at San Diego’s Balboa Theatre and October 26 at Santa Barbara’s Crest Theatre.

As its name suggests, the initiative encourages California citizens to vote “yes” on proposition 62, a law that would repeal the death penalty as the maximum punishment for murder in the state and replace it with life in prison without possibility of parole. The ruling would apply retroactively to convicted murderers who’ve already been sentenced to death.

The San Diego concert also will feature Steve Earle, while Browne will be joined at the Santa Barbara show by former Plimsouls frontman Peter Case. Tickets for both events are on sale now.

In other news, Browne and his touring guitarist Greg Leisz will be participating in Little Feat‘s 15th annual fan camp, dubbed Ramble on the Island!, which runs from January 9 to January 13, 2017, in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. The event’s lineup also includes the late Levon Helm‘s backing group, The Midnight Ramble Band. Jackson will be playing two acoustic shows and is expected to sit in with the other performers during the camp.

Here are all of Browne’s upcoming performances:

10/10 — Colorado Springs, CO, Pikes Peak Center*
10/11 — Cheyenne, WY, Cheyenne Civic Center*
10/13 — Boise, ID, Morrison Center for the Performing Arts*
