Courtesy Grosset & DunlapDolly Parton‘s 1971 country hit “Coat of Many Colors” already has inspired a popular TV movie and a forthcoming sequel, and this Tuesday, October 18, the country legend can add one more creative project to the list of releases based on the tune — a new children’s book.

Targeted specifically to young readers, Coat of Many Colors features all-new illustrations, as well as an all-new song by Parton. You’ll be able to download the tune, titled “Making Fun Ain’t Funny” by purchasing the book.

The project is an extension of the superstar’s passion to inspire children to read. Since founding The Imagination Library in 1988, Dolly has helped distribute more than 80 million books to kids around the world, all inspired by the fact that her father couldn’t read or write.

“Coat of Many Colors” tells the poignant and true story from Dolly’s childhood of how her mother stitched together a coat for her with pieces of different colored rags. You can learn more about the Parton family when the sequel to last year’s successful Coat of Many Colors movie airs this holiday season. Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love is set to premiere November 30 on NBC.
