Courtesy of 429 RecordsAfter releasing their self-titled debut in 2014, The Empty Hearts, the supergroup featuring founding members of Blondie, The Cars and The Romantics, are coming together to spread some holiday cheer. The band is preparing two yuletide-themed singles that are due out soon.

One of the songs is titled “It’s Christmastime,” and was co-written by the group’s members and E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zant. The track also features guest backing vocals by The BanglesDebbie and Vickie Peterson.

Making up The Empty Hearts’ lineup are Blondie drummer Clem Burke, Cars guitarist Elliot Easton and Romantics singer/guitarist Wally Palmar, as well as Andy Babiuk, longtime bassist for the garage-rock band The Chesterfield Kings.

Meanwhile, The Empty Hearts are among the many artists lined up to perform the 85th annual Hollywood Christmas Parade, which will take place in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 27. Other performers on the bill include War, Cyndi Lauper, Olivia Newton-John, Kenny G and the pop-rock collective Band of Merrymakers.

The event will be taped and will air as a two-hour special premiering on The CW Network on December 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. A repeat screening will be broadcast on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel on December 21 at 3 p.m. ET/PT.
