NBC UniversalOne of New York City’s most enduring holiday traditions, the lighting of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center, takes place tonight, and a star-studded TV show celebrating the event will air live at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. As previously reported, Neil Diamond, Dolly Parton and Tony Bennett are among the well-known artists who will perform on the Christmas in Rockefeller Center special.

The event’s lineup also includes Sarah McLachlan; Garth Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood; Josh Groban; Tori Kelly; and The Voice‘s season nine winner Jordan Smith. In addition, Radio City Music Hall’s Rockettes will make and appearance. Today show anchors Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker and Hoda Kotb will host. Some stations will feature an extra hour of coverage starting at 7 p.m.

This year’s Rockefeller Center Christmas tree is a 94-foot tall Norway spruce from Oneonta, New York. It’s decorated with more than 50,000 LED lights.
