Courtesy of Rock & Roll Hall of FameThe Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has revealed that its 2017 class of inductees will be announced on Tuesday, December 20. The honorees will be unveiled at 8 p.m. ET that day by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation CEO Joel Peresman.

Meanwhile, the Rock Hall’s online fan vote ended on Thursday and the five nominees getting the most votes were, in order, Journey, Electric Light Orchestra, Yes, Pearl Jam and The Cars. These artists will receive one extra ballot going toward their possible induction.

A total of 19 music acts were selected by the Rock Hall’s Nominating Committee for potential induction next year in the “Performers” category. The five artists with the most total ballots will be inducted. More than 600 people, including music historians, industry figures and artists, have the opportunity to submit ballots.

The 32nd annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame takes place this April at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. A special featuring highlights of the event will air on HBO at a later date.
