Chris Phelps/AT&T’s AUDIENCE NetworkVeteran rockers Jefferson Starship will find their way to the Audience Network tonight, December 23, for the latest in the channel’s series of concert specials. The show, titled simply Jefferson Starship, premieres at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The special features the band playing some of its classic songs, as well as well-known tunes by its predecessor group, the Jefferson Airplane, and that band’s spinoff, Starship. Among the songs are the Airplane’s “Somebody to Love,” Jefferson Starship’s “Find Your Way Back” and Starship’s chart-topping hit “We Built This City.”

The current Jefferson Starship is a continuation of the band that had been led by founding singer/guitarist Paul Kantner — who also was an original Jefferson Airplane member — until his death in January 2016. The lineup features original Jefferson Starship bassist/singer David Freiberg, former Starship drummer Donny Baldwin and powerhouse singer Cathy Richardson.

The special also includes behind-the scenes clips and interview segments with the band. In a preview for the show, Baldwin notes about Jefferson Starship’s performances, “They’re gonna get the history of what the band is and where it came from. We give them a taste of ‘through the years,’ so to speak.”

The Audience Network can be viewed on DirecTV and AT&T U-verse TV.
