Courtesy of The VenetianAs previously reported, Styx and ex-Eagles guitarist Don Felder will team up for a five-date residency at The Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas that kicks off next week. Dubbed Styx & Don Felder: Renegades in the Fast Lane, the shows are scheduled for January 6, 7, 11, 13 and 14.

Felder, who has hit the road with Styx a number of times in recent years, says he loves playing and touring with the veteran rock band.

“We have so much fun together — the band, the crews, the musicians,” he tells ABC Radio. “We get along so well. It’s like a party that just goes from city to city to city. We decided to do this residency together in Las Vegas ’cause we have so much fun just hanging out.”

Felder says his set will feature various Eagles classics along with some of his solo material, while noting that he and Styx plan to change things up so that fans who come to more than one performance won’t see same show twice in a row. The 69-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer also reports that the show will be “a very unique presentation” featuring “a nice couple of surprises…that no one has really seen before.”

While Felder didn’t reveal the nature of the surprises, fans can expect him and Styx to hit the stage for one or more collaborative performance during the shows, as they’ve done when they toured together.

Don also explains to ABC Radio that he has fun playing alongside Styx because gives him the chance to dig into some harder-rocking material than the country-flavored songs that make up much of the Eagles catalog.
