Andrew Macpherson; Danny ClinchJoe Walsh, Michael McDonald, Sam Moore and Jackson Browne are among the many music stars who will perform at a March 9 concert at New York City’s Beacon Theatre that will raise money for the God’s Love We Deliver charity.
The event, dubbed “Love Rocks NYC! A Change Is Gonna Come: Celebrating Songs of Peace, Love and Hope,” also will feature Dr. John, Mavis Staples, Cyndi Lauper, Aaron Neville, ex-Allman Brothers Band members Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks, longtime Rolling Stones backing singer Lisa Fischer, Marc Cohn and many others.
The concert’s house band will feature a variety of respected musicians, including Paul Shaffer and his Late Show with David Letterman band mate Will Lee, former Bob Dylan and Levon Helm touring guitarist Larry Campbell and Eric Clapton touring drummer Steve Gadd.
The benefit, which draws inspiration from late soul legend Sam Cooke and his classic song “A Change Is Gonna Come,” will help support the God’s Love We Deliver organization’s mission to use music to help people in need. The nonprofit delivers nutritious meals to seriously ill people in the New York City area.
Tickets for the Love Rocks NYC! benefit go on sale this Saturday, January 28, at noon ET via Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster.com and by calling 1-866-858-0008.
