Bettman/GettyThere’s plenty of Motown magic in Billboard‘s first-ever recap of six decades of its R&B/hip-hop music charts.

In the R&B/Hip-Hop Artists category, The Temptations have been dubbed the top all-time artist. The legendary Motown group earned 16 number one hits on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and fourteen leading tracks on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. They also scored 43 top 10 songs in every decade from the 1960s through the 1990s.

Aretha Franklin follows The Temptations at #2, and is also the top ranking female on the list, with Stevie Wonder at #3 and the top solo male. James Brown and Michael Jackson round out the tally at #4 and #5, respectively.

As for Billboard‘s all-time R&B/Hip-Hop albums, Michael Jackson’s groundbreaking Thriller came in at #1. It spent 37 weeks at the top spot between 1983 and 1984. Jackson also appears again at #3 with his 1979 project, Off the Wall.

In the compilation of Billboard‘s all-time R&B/hip-hop songs list, Marvin Gaye‘s “Sexual Healing” comes in #4.
