Mark Horton/Getty ImagesBryan Ferry kicks off the first of two scheduled 2017 North American tour legs tonight in Hollywood, Florida. The founding Roxy Music frontman’s first series of shows runs through an April 3 concert in Montreal.
Ferry then will mount a lengthy European trek before returning to North America in the late summer for a leg that’s plotted out from an August 3 concert in Denver through an August 26 date at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The lauded singer will be accompanied at the L.A. performance by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.
At his shows, Ferry will showcase songs from his latest album, 2014’s Avonmore, as well as select Roxy Music tunes and material from his earlier solo releases.
Opening for Bryan during his current North American trek will be Welsh singer/songwriter Judith Owen, whose backing band features renowned session bassist Leland Sklar. Interestingly, Owen’s new album, Somebody’s Child, includes a cover of the Roxy Music classic “More Than This.”
