ABC/Rady HolmesElton John was a good friend of the late Princess Diana, which is why he was the one chosen to sing at her funeral. Thursday, the 20th anniversary of her death, he posted a sweet tribute to her on Instagram.

The photo shows the two of them together, happy and smiling. The caption reads, “20 years ago today, the world lost an angel. #RIP.” He also tagged his AIDS Foundation in the photo, because Diana “made an outstanding contribution to the fight against” the disease, according to a tweet the Foundation sent today.

Also on Instagram, Elton unveiled a photo of himself posing with the cast of the upcoming movie Kingsman: The Golden Circle. As previously reported, Elton has a cameo in the film as himself, but the impressive cast also includes Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, Colin Firth, Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Mark Strong, and Taron Egerton.

Elton captioned the photo, “Together with my fabulous #Kingsman: The Golden Circle cast mates! I’ll see you in London on September 18th for the world premiere!”

Kingsman: The Golden Circle director Matthew Vaughn told ABC Radio a few years ago that he wanted to put Elton in the first Kingsman movie, but it turned out to be too difficult, both plot-wise and logistically.
