BMGDan Fogelberg‘s been gone for over 10 years, but now there’s a new tribute album to help us remember him.

A Tribute to Dan Fogelberg, featuring versions of the late singer/songwriter’s tunes performed by a variety of famous artists, will be released on November 17. The 14-track collection, recorded over the course of several years, includes contributions from the Eagles, Michael McDonald, Jimmy Buffett, Boz Scaggs, the late Donna Summer and the late Dobie Gray.

Also featured on the record are Garth Brooks, Vince Gill and wife Amy Grant, Train, Alabama‘s Randy Owens, and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band with ex-Poco/Buffalo Springfield member Richie Furay. Fogelberg’s old backing band Fool’s Gold also recorded a track for the album.

Many of the musicians appearing on the tribute collaborated with Fogelberg over the years, including a number of The Eagles’ members. The album was produced by Fogelberg’s widow, Jean; his longtime friend and manager, Irving Azoff; Dan’s frequent studio collaborator, Norbert Putnam; and veteran concert promoter Chuck Morris.

A Tribute to Dan Fogelberg is available for pre-order now. If you purchase the album in advance, you’ll immediately receive a free download of Scaggs’ cover of the 1981 hit “Hard to Say,” followed on October 13 by a gratis digital copy of Gill and Grant’s rendition the classic 1979 ballad, “Longer.”

McDonald, who contributed a version of “Better Change” to the album, recalls that after he first heard some of Fogelberg’s early demos, “I was immediately transported to a musical place that I would look forward to returning to time and again over the years.” He adds, “So proud to be part of this project.”

Fogelberg died of prostate cancer in 2007. He was 56.
