Rhino EntertainmentREO Speedwagon has prepared an expanded and remastered edition of its 2009 holiday album Not So Silent Night: Christmas with REO Speedwagon that’s available now as a digital download and will be issued on CD and vinyl in the coming weeks. The updated digital edition of the album features several tracks that didn’t appear on the original release, including a new version of the veteran rock group’s 2010 yuletide tune “I Believe in Santa Claus.”

People purchasing the CD and LP edition of the reissue will be able to download the new version of “I Believe in Santa Claus” for free. You also can check out the track on YouTube.

REO Speedwagon frontman Kevin Cronin, who co-wrote “I Believe in Santa Claus” with longtime band mate Bruce Hall, says, “Our goal with this new version of ‘the Santa song’ was to create a true REO Speedwagon track, which also happens to be a Christmas carol, and a holiday love letter to our families, and yours.”

Among the popular holiday tunes featured on Not So Silent Night are standards like “The First Noel,” “Silent Night,” “Deck the Halls” and “Little Drummer Boy,” as well as covers of John Lennon‘s “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” and the Elvis Presley hit “Blue Christmas.”

The Not So Silent Night CD will be released on November 3, while the LP will arrive on December 1.
