Credit: Robb FennAn official video for the Alice Cooper song “The Sound of A,” which closes out the shock rocker’s 2017 album Paranormal, has just premiered on the earMusic label’s YouTube channel.

The clip features close-up footage Cooper and various men, women and children sporting variations of his creepy black facial and eye makeup, lip-synching to the ominous-sounding tune.

A limited-edition single featuring “The Sound of A,” along with four previously unreleased live performances recorded at a May 2016 concert in Columbus, Ohio, will be issued on February 23 on CD and as a 10-inch white-vinyl disc. Alice will celebrate his 70th birthday February 4.

“The Sound of A” dates back to 1967, and was the first song Cooper ever wrote entirely by himself. Original Alice Cooper band bassist Dennis Dunaway brought an old tape of the tune to the sessions for Paranormal, and he and Alice reworked it and decided to include it on the album.
