ABC/Richard CartwrightA lot more Who fans will get the chance to see and hear Roger Daltrey perform the band’s classic 1969 rock opera Tommy with orchestral accompaniment this summer.

After Daltrey announced a special Tommy show with the Boston Pops Orchestra on June 15 at the famed Tanglewood venue in Lenox, Massachusetts, the singer has now lined up a full themed U.S. tour.

The trek, dubbed “Roger Daltrey Performs The Who’s Tommy,” runs from a June 8 concert in Bethel, New York, through a July 8 show in the Cleveland suburb of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Daltrey will be backed by members of The Who’s touring band at all of the shows, and will be accompanied by a different orchestra at each stop on the trek.

Roger’s orchestral tour will include multiple performances at Wolf Trap on Vienna, Virginia, and at the Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, Illinois.

As previously reported, Daltrey will begin his 2018 solo itinerary with four concerts taking place in March in the Western U.S. Those shows will feature Roger and members of the Who touring band performing classics and rarities by the group, plus some tunes from his solo career.

In other news, Daltrey also will be headlining one of the shows lined up for the 2018 edition of the annual Teen Cancer Trust benefit concert series at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Roger will be joined by special guests at a concert scheduled for March 22.

Other artists playing the week-long series of fundraising events include UB40 on March 19, Nile Rodgers & Chic on March 21 and Def Leppard on March 25. Visit for more information.
