Credit: Danny ClinchChuck Berry‘s widow, Thelmetta, and his estate have struck an exclusive agreement with U.K. film production company Cardinal Releasing to create a documentary and a biopic focusing on the rock ‘n’ roll pioneer’s life.

The documentary, which features the working title CHUCK! The Documentary, is expected to run 90 minutes and is being directed by Jon Brewer, who previously has worked on films about B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Bad Company and many other music artists.

“I am very privileged to be able to produce and direct this fully authorized and official story of the legendary Chuck Berry,” says Brewer in a statement.

Deadline reports that principal photography already has begun on the doc. As for the biopic, pre-production is slated to start this summer, after the documentary has been completed.

Berry is considered one of the most influential artists of the early rock ‘n’ roll era, having written and performed such classic songs as “Johnny B. Goode,” “Roll Over Beethoven” and “Maybellene,” and developed a guitar style emulated by countless other famous musicians. Berry died on March 18, 2017, at the age of 90. His final studio album, Chuck, was released in June.
