Courtesy of Rhino EntertainmentSurviving Monkees members Mike Nesmith and Micky Dolenz are teaming up for a North American trek, marking the first time they’ve ever toured as a duo.

The outing, dubbed “The Monkees Present: The Mike & Micky Show,” kicks off June 1 in Chandler, Arizona, and is mapped out through a June 25 concert in Red Bank, New Jersey.

The shows will feature Nesmith and Dolenz performing songs spanning The Monkees’ entire career, from their 1966 self-titled debut through their 50th anniversary reunion album, 2016’s Good Times.

The concerts will showcase many of the tunes Nesmith wrote, and will feature some songs that have never been performed live before.

Tickets and VIP packages will go on sale to the general public starting this Friday, February 23, via Monkees.com.

“I love being on stage with Micky,” says Mike in a statement. “We’ve been collaborating for over 50 years, so it’s hard to believe it’s never been just the two of us…These are going to be some fun shows.”

Adds Dolenz, “Right from the get-go, I admired Mike’s songs. When we used to get together around the campfire to sing in the early days, we were always doing his songs. We always had such a great vocal blend…[N]ow we finally get to do the Mike & Micky show that we riffed on back when we were shooting The Monkees.”

Fellow Monkee Peter Tork explains his absence by saying that he’s currently focusing on blues projects like his recently released Leadbelly tribute album Relax Your Mind, which he recorded with his solo band, Shoe Suede Blues.

“I’m shifting gears for now, but I wish the boys well,” Tork says, “and I’ve learned to never say never on things further down the line.”
