Motown legend Smokey Robinson will join forces with country singer/songwriter Cam for an upcoming episode of the performance series CMT Crossroads that will premiere Wednesday, March 28, at 10 p.m. ET on the cable channel. The event was taped Tuesday in Studio A at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

Prior to the performance, Robinson told Billboard, “I’m looking forward to working with Cam on our episode of Crossroads. I can’t wait to hear what she brings to my songs.”

Cam, meanwhile, took to her social media sites today to gush about getting the chance to sing with Smokey.

“Pinching myself right now. I’m taping @CMT Crossroads today with the one and only Smokey Robinson!!!!” she captions a photo showing her standing beside the soul singer. “I grew up listening to Motown. And this guy has been responsible (as a writer, producer and/or singer) for some of the most iconic songs in the history of recorded music (You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me, I Second that Emotion, Tears of a Clown, My Girl… just google him, the list is insane)…Singing with him tonight will forever be a highlight in my life.”

This marks the first time Robinson and Cam have shared the stage together. As with other Crossroads episodes, fans can expect the two artists to swap vocals and verses while performing a selection their hits.
