Masterworks BroadwayAerosmith‘s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, as well as Cyndi Lauper and her longtime songwriting collaborator Rob Hyman, are nominated for the 2018 Tony Awards, thanks to their work on the soundtrack for SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical.

The teams of Tyler & Perry and Lauper & Hyman each wrote an original song for the show, which received a nod for Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre. The founding Aerosmith members composed a track titled “Bikini Bottom Boogie,” while Lauper and Hyman wrote a tune called “Hero Is My Middle Name.”

They Might Be Giants, John Legend, Yolanda Adams, Sara Bareilles, The Flaming Lips, Lady Antebellum and Panic! at the Disco are among the many other artists receiving a Tony nomination for their contributions to the musical’s score.

David Bowie‘s song “No Control” also is featured in the production, but since it wasn’t originally written for the musical, Bowie isn’t eligible for a nomination.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical received a total of 12 Tony nominations, including Best Musical, tying the Mean Girls musical for the most nominations this year.

The 2018 Tony Awards air live Sunday, June 10 on CBS. For the full list of nominations, visit TonyAwards.com.
