Thanks to Live Nation’s National Concert Week promotion, now through May 8, you can snag $20 tickets to the summer’s biggest tours, including such package treks as Styx with Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and Tesla, and Foreigner with Whitesnake and Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening.

Members of Foreigner, Styx and Whitesnake spoke with ABC Radio recently and they all agree that the budget-ticket campaign is a great idea.

“I think it’s fantastic,” says founding Foreigner guitarist and songwriter Mick Jones. “It really gives fans…who are tight on money the chance to come and see the show. And I think it’s goodwill, and I think the fans appreciate it.”

Meanwhile, Styx guitarist James “JY” Young notes, “Life’s not getting any easier out there and we’re excited very much to be able to offer this to people. You know, the more the merrier.”

Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale points out that for that low price, fans who come out to his band’s trek with Foreigner and Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening really will be getting bang for their buck.

“It’s gonna be action-packed music from the moment Jason Bonham starts with his Zeppelin experience through to Foreigner’s [final song],” Coverdale declares. “Over three hours of music people know and can sing along with, and be part of the actual performance, which is great.”

Styx keyboardist Lawrence Gowan tells ABC Radio that fans attending his group’s tour with Jett & the Blackhearts and Tesla will be similarly entertained.

“It’s a great bill because each band has a unique sound and a unique place in the history of rock,” Gowan says. “[I]t’s gonna be about four hours of nonstop classic rock, and that’s what people can expect and they’re gonna love it.”
