iTunes/Apple Corps Ltd.A new four-song EP celebrating the solo careers of each member of The Beatles is available now as a free download at iTunes. The aptly titled 4 features a seemingly random collection of tunes, including the 1970 John Lennon ballad “Love,” Paul McCartney‘s 1975 Wings gem “Call Me Back Again,” the 1970 George Harrison cut “Let It Down,” and, the most recent song, a 2010 Ringo Starr track titled “Walk with You.”

“Love” first appeared on Lennon’s first non-experimental solo album, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band; “Call Me Back Again” was featured on Wings’ Venus and Mars; “Let It Down” is from Harrison’s first post-Fab Four solo record, All Things Must Pass; and “Walk with You,” on which Starr duets with McCartney, appeared on Y Not.

According to a note on The Beatles’ official website, the idea behind the EP is to allow fans to “experience a taste of the individual brilliance” of the Fab Four’s members.
