Columbia RecordsPink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour says the band’s upcoming album, The Endless River, will be their last.

In an interview with BBC 6 Music, Gilmour says he and drummer Nick Mason have agreed that the group will not release any more music after Endless River. “This is the last thing that’ll be out from us,” Gilmour said.

When asked if that was definite, Gilmour replied, “Yes, I’m pretty certain that there will not be a follow up to this.”

The guitarist said his wife Polly thought Endless River “would be a very good lyrical idea to go out on.” Gilmour added, “It’s a shame but this is the end.”

When asked if there was any more Pink Floyd music in the vaults, Gilmour replied, “No.” Gilmour added that he did have some material he recorded with keyboardist Rick Wright, who died in 2008, but that is for a new solo record.

“I have a little bit of Rick playing from my solo stuff that will hopefully appear on my next solo album, but not a Pink Floyd album,” Gilmour told the BBC.

The Endless River is a collection of tracks that have been reworked from the 1993 sessions for The Division Bell. Mason has described the new album as a “tribute” to Wright.

The Endless River will be available November 10.
