PRNewsFoto/Legacy RecordingsFrom “Country Roads” to Hollywood Boulevard!: The late John Denver is slated to be honored with the 2,531st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, October 24. The ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. PT and will take place at 7065 Hollywood Boulevard near Sycamore Avenue.

Two of the beloved singer/songwriter’s children — Zak Deutschendorf and Jesse Belle Denver — will be on hand to accept the honor on behalf of their family. Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president and CEO Leron Gubler will emcee the event. Indie-rock act Trampled by Turtles will perform an acoustic rendition of the Denver’s 1974 hit “Annie’s Song” during the festivities, while other as-yet-unannounced guests also will make appearances.

“We are proud to honor one of America’s singing icons who has been missed for many years,” says Gubler in a statement. “Luckily for us we have his amazing music to remember him by.”

For fans who can’t make it to the unveiling in person, the ceremony will stream live via WalkofFame.com.

On the same day as the Walk of Fame event, an exhibition featuring 40 previously unseen photographs taken by Denver will open at the Substrate Gallery in Hollywood. The exhibit, titled “Sweet, Sweet Life: The Photographic Works of John Denver,” will remain on display through November 23. Limited editions of the singer’s photos also will be sold at the gallery.

As previously reported, a four-CD, career-spanning box set called All of My Memories: The John Denver Collection is scheduled to be released on November 4. The compilation will feature classic hits, memorable album cuts, live performances, demo recordings and rare tracks, and will include six previously unreleased songs.

Denver died in a 1997 plane crash at the age of 53.
