The Mustangs will play host to the Bulldogs of Indian River this Friday Night at 7pm!

MUNISING, MI – 10/28/2014 – Ending the season on an eight game win streak is okay I guess.  The Mustangs started off the 2014 campaign with a 28-6 loss to the (now 8-1) West Iron County Wykons, but completely recovered and even dominated the rest of the way.  The defense has shut out four of their last eight opponents, while the offense has been flying, scoring 34 or more points in every game since week one.  Outscoring opponents by an average margin of 39 points per game, the Mustangs look primed for a nice playoff run and could possibly make some noise in division-8 down the line.

The Mustang’s opponent will be the Inland Lakes Bulldogs of Indian River.  The Bulldogs (7-2) are one year removed from losing to Negaunee in the first round of the division-six playoffs in 2013.  They’ve now dipped down two divisions, and aren’t getting a very nice welcoming party.  According to Fox Sports Detroit, these teams are only 10 points apart in the playoff-point system (58.333-48.778).  The Mustangs need to play their game if they’re going to advance.  The winner of this game will go on to face the winner of the Newberry (5-4) – St. Ignace (9-0) match up.

Tune into AM1400 GTO for all of your Munising Mustang coverage.  Charlie Nebel will have the call beginning with a 6:30 pregame and a 7pm kickoff this Friday Night!  Go Mustangs!
