ABC/Image Group LAAerosmith guitarist Joe Perry recently released a memoir titled Rocks in which he discusses the many conflicts he’s had with frontman Steven Tyler over the years. Interestingly, Tyler says he hasn’t read the book, and for a very good reason: He wants to keep getting along with Perry for the sake of the group.

Tyler shared these details with TMZ when the it caught the rock legend coming out of a Nashville club on Wednesday night.

When TMZ was asked him whether he’d read Rocks, Tyler exclaimed, “Hell no!…I gotta go on stage with him next year. I want to love the son of a b***h.”

When the reporter pressed him to see if he’d consider checking the memoir out after Aerosmith’s tour is done, Steven said, “I might,” then added, “[Joe] hasn’t read mine either. Sorry, it’s the way it works.”

Earlier in the conversation, Tyler was asked how he felt about being a grandfather, since his daughter Liv currently is expecting her second child. Steven answered, “How great it feels, to be able to teach someone to learn to go fishing? Oh please, it’s heavenly.”

Fresh off of his appearance as a presenter at the CMA Awards on Wednesday, Tyler is scheduled to be one of the performers on the CMA Country Christmas special, which will be taped Friday at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. The show will air December 1 on ABC.
