The Eagles guitarist will appear in interview segments and also will be shown lending his talents to a new Foo Fighters song, “Outside,” that the band recorded at the Rancho de la Luna studio in Joshua Tree, California.

Other artists lined up to appear in the show this week are Joan Jett, who burst on the L.A. music scene as a teenager with the all-girl group The Runaways, and Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme. In addition, surviving Doors members Robby Krieger and John Densmore, who were seen briefly in the Austin, Texas, edition of Sonic Highways last week, are expected to show up in the new episode too.

Each episode of the Sonic Highways series premieres on HBO on Friday at 11 p.m. ET/PT. The show chronicles the making of the Foo Fighters’ just-released album of the same name, which the band recorded in different studios in cities across America. Each program also profiles the musical history of the city the Foo Fighters’ are visiting.
