Blue Rider Press, an imprint of Penguin Random House, will publish Good Vibrations: My Life as a Beach Boy. The book will discuss the singer’s childhood growing up in the Los Angeles area, the many ups and downs he experienced as a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band, his spiritual journey and long devotion to transcendental meditation, and his “complex” relationship with cousin and fellow Beach Boys co-founder Brian Wilson.

“I’ve had an incredible life with a lot of triumphs, my share of heartbreak and some pretty amazing experiences,” says Love in a statement. “There are a lot of things I haven’t shared before, and I’m looking forward to opening up about my life and my work in this book. It’s a story about family, music, a country in transition, and audiences all over the world coming together in harmony.”

Good Vibrations — named after the 1966 Beach Boys hit of the same name — is due out in the summer of 2016.
