Atlantic RecordsPhil Collins was forced to cancel a charity performance in Miami on Saturday due to illness.

Collins did make an appearance at the end of the show, held at Fillmore Miami Beach, to apologize to the audience, saying he was overcome by some sort of neurological affliction that strikes every now and then, according to Miami.com.

He went on to explain that he’d been working with doctors the previous two days and that soundchecks leading up to the concert went poorly.

When audience members tried to coax him into singing anyway, Collins replied, “Trust me, you wouldn’t enjoy it.”

The show benefited his Little Dreams Foundation, which he co-founded with his ex-wife Orianne Collins Mejjati. Its mission is to fulfill the dreams of young talents within music, art and sports.

Other performers at Saturday’s show included Richard Marx.
