Credit: Jimmy KingAnother day, another music awards show. The latest is the BBC Music Awards, which will air on the cable channel Palladia this Thursday, December 11, at 3 p.m. ET. If you miss it then, it’ll repeat several times.

So far, the nominees for only two categories have been revealed — British Artist of the Year and International Artist of the Year. David Bowie is among the artists receiving nominations for the former trophy, along with pop stars Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, and a few lesser known acts. As for the International Artist of the Year category, Prince and Dolly Parton will face off against such younger stars as Taylor Swift, Lorde and Pharrell, as well as acclaimed American jazz singer Gregory Porter.

The show will feature performances by Will.i.am, Coldplay, One Direction, Sheeran and more. Additional nominees will be announced this week. The ceremony show will take place in London in front of an audience of more than 10,000 people, and the winners are determined by a BBC Music panel and leading music journalists.
