Mert & MarcusMadonna is the new face of Versace’s latest ad campaign, but she didn’t cash a big paycheck for posting for those photos. According to Donatella Versace, the Queen of Pop donated her fee to charity.

Speaking to the Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera, Donatella says, “I prefer the social commitment of women. I think of Madonna and her hospital in Malawi, which is where the remuneration from our campaign will be going.”

Donatella also reveals that Madonna’s photos for the campaign were not digitally manipulated or Photoshopped.

“She did not have her abdomen retouched or [her] arm,” says the designer. “I told her, you do not have to be just sex! I want you like I know you: a vulnerable person, who is afraid, who suffers from loneliness and yet [is] strong, determined, fearless. In these pictures, she is so.”
